caterpillar in house

Question
i saw a caterpillar in the house when i was sweeping behind the couch this is not a millipede it was solid black and did not curl up when i killed it now this house has had a problem with moths that eat clothes could this be a caterpillar of these moths

Answer
Danny,

Clothes moth larvae are small, whitish caterpillars and they generally occur in out-of-way places (see http://www.livingwithbugs.com/clothes_moth.html for more about clothes moths). This was probably not related to clothes moths. If you post a picture I might be able to identify it.
