I burnt a area of my lawn by laying a tarp out to dry

Question
I burnt asection of my yard when I l;aid a tarp out to dry. I raked the section and re-seeded the bare sports that were already there. Do I continue to water the section?

Answer
You need to keep newly seeded areas consistently moist until the new grass sprout (germinate). If the seeds are allowed to dry out just slightly, they will die. Once the new grass has germinated, and growth has come in, you should gradually change to an infrequent but deep watering pattern. E.g. 2-3 weeks after germination, gradually change from frequent shallow applications to infrequent and deep applications. The goal after 4-6 weeks from germination is to water once per week for 1 hour i/o 10 minutes 3 times per day.
