Dry molasses on lawn

Question
Charlotte, I would like to try your suggestion.  Where do you get your dry molasses?  At a farm supply store or grocery store (hopefully in bulk, rather than 5 lbs at a time!)?  I have never seen it and would welcome your suggestion as to where to look.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Glenda;
Glenda is my first name. LOL
I don't use the dry molasses because I like the results I get from sugar better, and it takes less sugar to treat.
I use about 4 pounds of sugar per each 1000 sq.ft. You use dry molasses at the rate of 10 pounds per 1000 sq.ft.
The smallest bag of dry molasses I ever found was 40 pounds.
You can alkso buy sugar in 20 pound bags, and that covers the same area, or a little more.
Pound for pound the sugar is a little less expensive.
Nurseries that carry some organic products usually have dry molasses, and you should also be able to get it at feed stores.
Walmart carries some organics in their nursery, so you might be able to get it there too.
