Question
I live in Fort Lauderdale area. The east side of my house has an area about 6 or 7 ft wide with 1 story house on one side and a 6ft fence with Areca palms that are 7 or 8ft high. The area only gets about 3 to 4 hrs sun. Is there a lawn I can use?

St. Augustine turf tolerates shade better than Bermuda.  I would recommend Floratam, Raleigh or Seville varieties, tolerant of SAD disease.  Seville is resistant to chinch bugs.  Check for newer varieties and recommendations at your sod or seed supplier.
