Watering the lawn in the evening.

Question
I get a certain amount of enjoyment spraying water on my front lawn in the evening. My wife knowing that I enjoy doing so tells me not to water in the evening that it causes some sort of fungus.  My feelings are that it rains at night so what is the difference?  Please advise me if I have to add stop watering to the STOP DOING THIS LIST?
Thank you,
Wet in Long Island!!!!

Answer
Hi Mark;
I heard all the arguments about fungus too, but when I was working all day, and raising children, the only time I could water was at night.
I live in the Dallas area, and we have a lot of humidity here. Never got a fungus from watering at night.
More oftem than not, it was around midnight that I was out there watering.
I only water with soaker hoses now, and I move the hoses to one area, then at night, I put them on any area that is left. I have a timer on my faucetts, so I can turn it on to the time I know it will not run off into the street, and go to sleep, and let it finish up by itslef.
