Question
We laid down centipede sod in late December, have had no snow, only some freezing temperatures, and quite alot of rain since the sod was placed. Our question is, when do we fertilize the sod? We are in eastern NC(28573) and the sod is just starting to green up, about the same as the regular centipede lawn. It hasn't really rooted  yet though. Also, do you water before or after fertilizing?

I would wait until daytime temperatures are betweem 80-85 deg F. and the lawn is developing nicely.  I ilke to starve new sod to force root development.

Remember, not to apply to much nitrogen to centipede.  Space applications throughout summer at low rates.

You may water after fertilizing or wait for rain.
