i recently installed midiron w/ryegrass sod. due to a large amount of rain, my lawn is currently under about 2 inches of water. will this result in any damage to the lawn ?

If the lawn area drains within a normal period, there should be no damage to the new turf.  You will have the ideal soil saturation at no cost to you.

If the water stands for several days, it could suffocate the turf.  You will be able to see if it is damaged.  The Midiron should do OK.  I am not sure about the rye if it is young.
