water zoysia sod

Question
I just had zoysia sod laid the other day and I opted for no irrigation. I cannot get a clear idea of how much and how often to water. I live in the middle TN area, temps are still in the 90s and high 80s. Twice a day for an hour? 5 AM and 4 PM? I leave for work at 6 AM and return at 4 PM. I put out three sprinklers for my 65 by 30 back yard.

Answer
That actually sounds like a pretty good schedule if you can keep it up.  The trick is to keep the sod and immediate underlying soil wet as much as possible.  Though you could probably get away with a little less, more than 2 hours per day would be overkill.

Keep it up until the sod firmly takes root.

Good luck with it!

Sincerely,
