wild green onions

Question
We have centapede grass, which is brown and dormant still. Every year we have problems with green onions. What can we do to get rid of these onions and make our lawn green-up and healthy?

Answer
These are really persistent, and you usually just have to try to kill them as they pop up.

One of the easiest ways is to simply step on them, and twist your foot so as to crush the base of the plant. It's quick, easy, and chemical free.

You'll see them pop up again next year, but just put on some grungy shoes and start crushing again.
