My Lawn

Question
I have this big hugh tree on the lawn that blocks the sun causing the grass to hardly get any sunlight. I have patches where the grass is trying to grow but is not really. I would like to know if weed and feed would help it, and if so when do I apply it to the lawn?

Answer
No, it won't. The grass needs sunlight. It's really as simple as that.

Think about it for a minute. If you were deprived of water, would extra oxygen help? While you need both, one cannot substitute for the other. Similarly, when the grass is deprived of sunlight, nothing else can help.

Either get some tree work done or find plants that can tolerate such shady conditions. Those are really your only two options.

Good luck!
