Question
I have an area in my yard that had good st.aug. grass. All of a sudden mushrooms formed a half circle. In the area they came up, the grass died. As the mushrooms died they moved further out and the the grass keeps dying. I now have a large area of dead grass, and the mushrooms keep coming up. What can I do to stop this?

At first I thought it might be 'fairy ring' disorder but the grass does not usually die. Indeed it becomes greener in the area. Either the mushrooms and dead turf indicate over watering and fungus disease or the mushrooms are indeed fairy ring and the dead grass is a separate symptom of another condition.
