killing mums

Question
I have a mum-like plant growing in a flower bed that never blooms and has completely taken it over to where nothing will grow, not even grass, much less flowers. I have sprayed concentrated Round-Up and even applied Treflan very heavily. I would love to have my flower bed back but I can't get rid of the mum. I've tried hoeing up the mums and the roots are like carpeting. I've run the tiller over them to cut them up as well. Nothing seems to help, they always come back with in a month. Can you recommend something to get rid of them. I do have a Pesticide/Herbicide Applicator's License. Any help will be most grateful.

Answer
I cannot think of a plant that would survive your treatment. Roundup?kills green material (chlorophyll). Treflan?is a pre-emergent herbicide and will inhibit germination and development of seeds.
This organism does not contain chlorophyll and does not produce seeds.
Therefore it is not a green plant.
