choosing a tree


Question
I live in zone 9a (sunset 18) and would like to plant a tree in the backyard to provide shade. I have a new beautiful in ground gunite rock swimming pool.the yard area I would like to plant in, is in full sun. first off I need to know how close to the pool can I plant? Also I would like a decidous tree. Also I have 23 climbing roses that are growing on 3 sides of the yard.Looking forward to hearing from you,Thanks Georgia

With Google being the hot spot for ANY info you can think of,I have been sending folks there ever since I found it's vast knowledge bank. I usually check out the best direct search first for my questioners however. Go to www.google.com and type in the little box this direct search: "planting around swimming pools"and you will be shown more info than you ever dreamed but you can pick out the link that narrows down your particular subject.
Lucky you with a granite pool and roses! I have started roses last year at a customers estate and have my fingers crossed that they will do well. I have not ventured very deeply in the field of rose care but come spring I will hopefully see a positive side of the fruits of my labor. Good luck to you in your gardening! Just keep in mind that deciduous trees will make a mess around and in your pool unless you cover it before the leaves start falling.
