bonsai tree

Question
We have a bonsai little plant, that we have had for 4 years and now the leaves have gone dry and brittle. I have put in some fresh compost and really don't know what else to do. It has great sentimental value and do not know what to do for the best. It is still green can you offer any advice. The leaves are long slim with a pointed end.

Answer
Hi Susan,

Bonsai refers to the miniaturizing of a plant, but it does not identify the type of plant that it is. Your description is too vague for me to identify it, so it is impossible for me to give you helpful advice.

Can you email a photo of your plant to me at [email protected]?

If not, can you send me a complete description of the plant - leaf dimensions, leaf color, number of stems growing from the soil, does the stem branch or grow straight, does it have bark, and any other distinguishing characteristics that would help me ID your plant.

After I know what plant you have, then I will be able to help you with caring for it properly. I look forward to your reply.

Regards,
Will Creed
