Question
I live in Houston and I would like to completely redesign my yard with a tropical mindset.  Can you point me toward a resource or resources in order to best plan for this big project.  I don't mind paying someone to design but I enjoy the work myself.

In addition to what I said before if you are looking for designers in your area you might try the American Society of Landscape Architects at www.asla.org and search using their firm finder feature. Also Service Magic on the Internet is good source for landscape designers. If you are spending less than $15,000 on your project you may want to look for a local garden designer. Registered Landscape Architects usually focus on larger projects due to their higher fees and hourly rates.

If you have lots of digital pictures and a site plan we might be able to quote you the design fee too.
