Lawn Pump not producing enough water/pressure

Question
I have a Sta-Rite DS2 model 1 1/2 HP Lawn Pump that is 5 yrs old that I have been trying to get working again after being drained for the winter. I filled the pump with water and started the pump. Right now the pump seems to be drawing water from the well but the sprinkler heads are only dripping water. There is a faucet connection at the top of pump and it is giving water but nowhere near as much pressure as it has in the past. What are some things I can do or look for to try and fix the problem? I have never had a problem in the spring before. Thanks.

Answer
There is either a restriction in the water line before the punp or after the pump.  Assuming you have opened all valves that are in the lines, you may have some sort of clog in the lines.  Try disconnecting the pipes from the pump and forcing either air or water through the lines to clear any clog.  If this is not the problem, you may have a problem with the pump.  The impellers do wear out over time.  Either take the impeller to a pump service shop, or have someone look at it.
