Hi,
I just bought a new house with a Hydrotek 1000 & Nelson Smart Zone EZ irrigation system. I have no idea how to get it working. Would you be able to tell me how to get our irrigation system working?

Though I can go through the process. You might be money ahead by calling a contractor and watching them do it the first time. There a 1000's of different methods, equipment and installation techniques and it is difficult to give you exact instructions.
Generally speaking: you need to turn the water on to the system. There should be a valve in the basement or somewhere to do this. You need to find the Hydrotek and follow it back to the water source. Once the water is on, you should be able to plug in your controller and turn on the system. Then it's a matter of checking each sprinkler for rotation and proper adjustment.
