lake strainer and check value

Question
QUESTION: When cleaning my lake strainer, I dropped it in the water. So far I can't find it. Where can I buy just a strainer, or do I need the whole check value?  I haven't been able to find that either. It's a 2 inch pipe. The system works now only if I prime it each time. I was quoted over $400.00 for a sprinkler guy to fix it!

ANSWER: What state and city do you live in? I'll look-up a distributor for you. Just reply back.

QUESTION: I live in Davie, Florida. It's right outside of Ft Lauderdale.
I saw something on line called a cepex ball check value.(for $65.00) That looked like something that might be similar. We're GC's so we're pretty handy and can install whatever we need to ourselves.( except when I drop things)  Thanks, Jeanie

Answer
Jeanie,
Sorry for not responding sooner, I've been very busy.
John Deere Landscape, Inc has many branches in FL. They are my supplier. They will have a 2" PVC Spring Check Valve and a screen too. If you only need the screen they will have many options.
Try johndeerelandscapes.com that should get you to the web site and you can find the closest branch.
