Question
I have an 8-station automatic sprinkler system. We had a horrific thunder/lightning storm recently and since then, stations 6 and 7 of my sprinkler system run simultaneously and continually. They will not shut off at the control box. I finally disconnected the wiring to those 2 stations at the control box to shut them off. Is this a valve problem? Wiring problem? Control Box problem? Any suggestions as to repair are appreciated. Thanks.

Try resetting the controller by disconnecting the power supply and the battery backup for about 5 minutes, then reconnect, reprogram and try it out.  Also make sure that all the wiring connections are sound, both at the controller and at the valves.  If this doesn't help, I would suspect the the controller may have been damaged by a power surge or something else, and may need to be replaced.
