connecting pvc pipe to a faucet

Question
I'm in the UK. I have an outdoor tap (faucet) which has threads to which I can connect a hose. But I want to run PVC pipe down the garden for irrigation. Can I buy an adaptor to attach the PVC pipe to the tap? I've been googling for a while, but I can't seem to find such an adaptor.

Thanks

Answer
Hey Colin, I hope this helps. I'm not sure in the UK, but here in the US your thread to your faucet is a little different than normal pipe thread. Usually on the faucet it is a 3/4" hose thread, and the PVC pipe is considered an  3/4" iron pipe thread. The adaptor you want, is a 3/4" female hose thread(and should come with a washer) and it will have a swivel on it, and on the other side of the swivel will be a 3/4" female iron pipe thread, that you can thread a pvc male adaptor onto, that the PVC will glue into. Basically both female adaptors on both sides of the swivel will look the same, but the hose thread is slightly bigger than the iron pipe thread. To see what I'm talking about, go to www.lascofittings.com and under search put in: P/N FHT-206, and this will show you  what I'm talking about. They also have adaptors that screw onto the faucet, that glue directly to the PVC pipe as well (P/N FHT-206) good luck and have a great day.
