bleeding pin

Question
when I loosen or remove the five inch metal screw bleeding pin on the valve my sprinklers pop up and work. Almost as soon as I close it tight the sprinklers shut down.  What is the problem there ?

Answer
Hey Dave, I'm assuming you mean when you try to turn the valve on by the controller, either the pressure to the heads is real low, or it doesn't work at all. When you open the bleed screw the valve works fine. Your problem is the diaphram, you need to replace the diaphram inside the valve. A good website is www.irrigationtutorials.com it will show you how to replace a diaphram. Good luck and have a great day.
