Hi Jim,

What is the function for the battery in the Rain Jet controller? I took it out, but nothing wrong. Do I need to put it back?

Hey Edward, the battery is to back-up the program in case the power goes out. You don't need a battery for the controller to work properly. You do not have to put it back in. If the power goes out, you will need to re-program it if you don't have a battery in it. Good luck and have a great day.
