Orbit Irrigation System 57606

Question
Hello Jim. My sprinklers stopped watering but my LCD screen shows as if the timed sprinklers are working. I have the manual and the only troubleshooting advice provided for my issue is the possibility of an optional rain sensor accidentally being switched on but my system doesn't have a rain sensor. I tried to test the sprinklers manually and again, the LCD shows as if the sprinklers are working but they are not. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Answer
Hey Annie, first thing I would suggest is to take out the batteries and see if you still have a display. It could be that the transformer or your power source is not giving you power. Also,
after you take the batteries out, and you do still have a display, un-hook the power for about a minute, and with the batteries still out, turn the power back on. If you take out the batteries, and the display goes blank, this means that the controller is getting no power. If you take the batteries out, and you still have a display, then you are getting power. If you are getting power, and the controller still does not seem to turn the valves on, take a volt/ohm meter and touch the negative lead on the C (common) terminal, and the positive lead on the # terminal of the valve that is supposed to be working, and you should get a reading between 22 to 26 volts. If you are getting a good reading, then either you have a bad wire from the controller to the valves, or the water is not turned on to the system. If you do not get a good reading at the controller, then the controller is defective and you need to replace it. Good luck and have a great day.
