Question
i was growing cilantro in a large rectangle container on my back porch when i came home one day to find it completely dead
it was about 4 inches tall before this happened what did i do wrong?

I don't know. Was it hot out? When was the last time you watered it? Young plants need more water than established ones when the weather is hot, and plants in containers dry out faster than those in the ground. That would be my guess of what the problem was.
