whats wrong with my tomato - photo attached

Question

white fuzzy patches on
Hi Elyse, what are these fuzzy white patches that appeared on my bottom leaves (after a few days of rain and humid weather?)  I've had a search on the net and am afraid it's powdery mildew?  If that is the case, what do I do about it (something the net is NOT helpful about).  Do you recommend fungicide?  I actually cut almost an entire branch of leaves off yesterday to try and stop the spread, but today it's appeared on more leaves!

Answer
Yes, it could be powdery mildew. You can spray the leaves with a mixture of 1 tablespoon baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) in 1 gallon of water. I've also heard that powdered milk or a 1:1 mixture of milk and water work, but I've never tried it. Neem oil (a natural fungicide/pesticide derived from a tree)also works very well.
