Tall round centerpieces

Question
I want to have tall centerpieces for my wedding- round carnation balls on top of pilsner vases.  How are the balls anchored to the vases so they are secure?  And how is the foam/attachment hidden?  What should I look for if I'm purchasing vases online (any particular brand/size)?  Is this doable or should it be left up to a florist? (I need to make 12 centerpieces).

Answer
It's definitely doable!  First, don't limit yourself to pilsners.  Any tall, cylindrical vase will work.  Look for the narrowness and stability at the base so the weight of the arrangement on top wont make them topple!  Take an oasis sphere, and wrap it in sheet moss, using floral pins to secure.  Use thin, vinyl, waterproof floral tape to anchor the sphere to the top of the vase and you'll be all set!  Good luck!
