best vases

Question
Hi what is the most versatile shaped vase? Also what shape would you recommend for taller flowers that have thin stems like Lilies or gladiolas? thanks

Answer
With tall, thin vases; your plant material should be 150% taller than the container itself.  So with lilies or glads that you want to show in a tall, dramatic way choose a thin tall vase that is 1/3 the height of the flower.  For basic versatility, choose a rounder style that is opaque (so you don't have to be clever about disguising interior stems) and about 8 inches tall to create traditional, rounded arrangements.
