Pro Flowers.com

Question
Hello Carin,

As you know Valentine's Day is just 3 days away and I wanted your opinion on ProFlowers.com, or any flower websites. Here is my question: Would it be a good idea to order flowers off a website ie. Proflowers, or should I go to a local florist? And if there is a good flower website please let me know...Thanx

Answer
Hello Anthony,
Thank you for your question. Flower websites are a really interesting new aspect to the floral business. Flowers are an item that most consumers like to see before they purchase them. A website is a really great tool for showing a potential client what your particular shop has to offer. Now, as for a company such as Pro flowers, I understand them to be more of a "farm to consumer" type of florist. They have beautiful flowers and vases for sale, but as I understand the flowers are delivered to the consumer as unarranged flowers. If you are looking for a gift of flowers that a designer has arranged for you and has taken great care in preparing for you, always go to your local florist. A great website for this is the Teleflora website. Let me teach you a little trick to save you some money as well. At the bottom of the Teleflora website is a tab for "find a florist." You can type in your particular information of your delivery address and find a local florist that will take personal care of you. And here is the trick, by contacting a local florist a couple of things happen. You are dealing directly with the shop that will be making your order, not a phone bank of non - florists. You will save quite a bit of money by not paying the wire fees that you would be charged by order processors, not florists. And you will hear about all of your beautiful options that they can offer you for your special gift. Good luck and Happy Valentine's Day! Carin Diaz
