Bermuda Grass care

Question
I have Bermuda Grass and i'm trying to fertilize it myself this year as opposed to the companies that are a bit high priced. I'm receiving so many different suggestions on what I should be doing to the grass at this time. We have already sprayed twice for weeds. We used Image. My grass is still brown but is vey slowly turning green. We have the aeration being done this week. When do I need to start with the fertilizer and what is the best fertilizer I should use. Is it possible for my husband and I to get this lawn going ourselves this season?
thank you.

Answer
Bermuda is slow to green up in spring which is normal. Wait to fertilize until late spring and then fertilize every month or month and a half through early fall.

Aerating can be done now. Personally, I prefer to wait until the lawn starts to take off a bit (warmer temperatures) but before the summer's heat. E.g. late spring is typically a good time to aerate.
