Organic care for Bermuda Grass

Question
I just read an answer on this website from Charlotte that said she uses 1 lb of
sugar/250 sqft of lawn to enrich the soil which kills weeds, greens the grass,
and gets rid of bugs.  What about ants?  Won't they thrive on the sugar?  We
purchased our home last fall and they had new Bermuda sod laid a few
months prior.  The lawn was beautiful last fall and had liitle weeds.  I haven't
done anything to it this winter and there are quite a bit more weeds in the
front now.  I'm trying to figure out the BEST way to rid myself of the weeds
but nourish the grass?  Is this sugar-thing legitimate?  What do you
recommend?

Answer
Steven:

I have no experience with sugar.  I can not answer your question.

I recommend good maintenance practices and a thick stand of grass to control most weeds.

The maintenance practices depend on where you live and what type of turf you have.

Best wishes.
