Growing African Spear (Sansevieria cylindrica)

Growing African Spear (Sansevieria cylindrica)

Genus: Sansevieria   Pronunciation: san-suh-veer'-ee-uh

African Spear (Sansevieria cylindrical) has easy requirements for care -- bright indirect light, and infrequent watering and feeding. Water about every 3 weeks and even more sparingly during the winter. If the potting mix stays wet, the plant's roots can begin to rot. Fertilize no more than once a month from spring through summer with a balanced houseplant formula mixed at 1/2 strength. Room temperatures of 55-80°F are fine year round. Repot when root bound, using a well-drained potting mix designed for cacti and succulents.
