drainage tiles

Question
I live in a co-op housing and need to know what will happen if someone disrupts or removes some of our river rock which is about 2 to 3 feet deep and places cement pavers on top, this area is about 3 to4 ft. wide and approx. 8ft long and is in front of there unit I know that its function is for drainage can you advise me on this and what will happen to the drainage in this area and should also say that this area is tied into other units with river rock in front of their units and we have had drainage problems in the past. thks.

Answer
Hi Murray
placing pavers on top of your river rock will not change the situation for you. If drainage is the main concern then an analisis of the area is needed to correct the problem. checking downspout locations and gutters are a place to start, a sump pump and drain tile should also be considered.  Good Luck  larry  ;-)
