My vegetable garden is dying

Question
I planted my vegetable garden and put some limestone granduales around the plants, 3 days later everything looks dead.  What can I do to save my garden?   I've been giving it plenty of water.

Answer
Hi Phyllis, If the correct type of lime is used according to label instructions, it can't kill your plants.  If you are watering properly your plants won't die, so nothing you've told me explains what is happening if the two things above were done properly.  Take a sample of your limed soil and your dying plants to your local garden center.  They should be able to test the pH for you to see if they overdosed on lime or maybe they'll spot an insect or disease right off.  Jim
