geranium propagation

Question
I have several geraniums and would like to create others from these plants

what is the easiest and best method of doing this?

Answer
Bob,

Cuttings by far is the easiest method.

Take stem cuttings about 4 inches long and dust the cut end with rooting hormone available at your local garden center.  Stick the cutting in a pot with moist peat mediaand cover the bag with a clear plastic bag to hold humidity in.  Place in indirect light and in about 3weeks roots should have formed.  Transplant and enjoy.

A word of caution.  Many geraniums are protected by plant patents and propagating these protected plants is not legal.  So proceed with caution.

good luck

Gary
