Corn Propogation

Question
I tore up my front and backyard to redo them.  I worked on the front, but didn't care about the weeds that overtook the back.  When I went out today to start clearing the backyard, I noticed a tall plant that looked a lot like corn.  I pulled some of the husk and sure enough, there was an ear of corn.  My first question is, how did it get there?  It's all over my backyard, growing in the alley behind the house and in my neighbor's front flowerbed. Secondly, is it safe to eat?

Thank you in advance.

Byron

Answer
Hi Bryon,
Thanx for your question.  Obviously, someone or something, dumped a lot of corn kernels in your yard.  Who knows.  Some passerby could have thrown some corn cobs that still had some seed in it into your yard.  Is the corn safe to eat?  I have no idea.  If you don't know where it came from you may not want to eat it.  I don't think I would not know ing where it came from.  Is it a genetically enhanced version of corn?  I wouldn't want to eat that junk.  I'm kind of cautious about eating stuff whose origins I don't know.  That's just me.  I hope this helps.
Tom
