How much time will it take for a magnolia seedling to become grown enough to bear flowers???

Hi Amelia,
Thanx for your question.  It's hard to say how long it will take a magnolia seedling to bear flowers unless I know what kind it is.  There are 80 magnolia species in the U.S.  The biggest, most beautiful (in my opinion) is Magnolia grandflora, native to the deep south.  It can take 10-15 years from seed for this tree to bloom.  Others may bloom a few years after they germinate.  Did you grow the seedling yourself or purchase it?  Do you know how old the seedling is and what variety it is?  Let me know.
