Jasmin Plant

Question
Hi, I have a Jasmine shrub in the garden,(I live in Crete)
It flowers beautifully but it has three large pods which have grown also. Can you tell me what these are and if i should remove them, they start off green and then turn red.
Any info would be appreceated.

Answer
Hi Pat,
Thanx for your question.  Do you know what kind of jasmine you have?  Jasmine is a name given to quite a number of plants and many are really not jasmine but because they have such a fragrant odor, people have come to refer to them as jasmines.  If you knew what kind you had perhaps I could give you a better answer.  The structures of which you speak sound like seed pods.  Seed pods generally don't harm the plant.  Pull them off if you don't like the looks of them.  I hope this helps.
Tom
