Creeping Thyme

Question
When should I plant Creeping Thyme seed? I live in Cleveland Ohio. Should I plant in late September/October or in the spring?

Answer
Hi Ed,
Thanx for your question.  I would wait until February to start the creeping thyme seed.  Sprinkle on top of soil.  Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy.  Germination in 2-4 weeks.  Let seedlings get large enough to handle and then transfer to separate pots.  After last frost, transfer pots outdoors and keep seedlings in the shade for about 10 days, protected from the elements.  This acclimates them to the outdoors.  Then you can plant in full sun.  I hope this helps.
Tom
