were to get garden starters for a home garden

Question
hey tom how are you? I was wondering if you know of a place were to buy starter plants for different types of vegetables and potatoes?

Answer
Hi Cody,
Thanx for your questions.  I'm fine and I hope you're doing fine as well.  Thanx for asking.

You can buy vegetable starts and seed potatoes at most DIY stores and nurseries.  If you are in the U.S. and Canada you can go to Walmart, Kmart, Lowe's, Home Depot, many independent hardware stores sell vegetable starts and then of course the nurseries.  In the fall, you're probably not going to find anything.  I know Walmart sells seed potatoes.  I usually get mine at a large seed supplier and garden center in our farmer's market.  Potatoes do best when started in the early spring.  Most people traditionally start potatoes around March 17th which is St. Patrick's Day.  Tomatoes, peppers, squash, melons, eggplant, beans and corn shouldn't be started outdoors until the ground warms up and definitely after the last frost.  You can usually find starts in tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, squash, melons, okra, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower.  I hope this helps.
Tom
