Forcing lilys to bloom earlier

Question
How can I force lilies particularly the Casa Blanca lily to bloom 3 to 4 weeks earlier than normal?  250 bulbs will be planted in the garden.

Answer
Hi Leiko,
Thanx for your question.  Is this mass planting a permanent thing or is it for a one-time show?  The reason I'm asking is that generally, some bulbs can be forced by exposing them to a cold period and then placing them in a warm environment which will trigger their emergence and bloom.  Spring bulbs are often available around Easter like this.  Tulips, hyacinths and paperwhites.  Other bulbs can be forced too such as lilies. Bear in mind that most of the time, the bulb does not recover from the enormous amount of energy it has to expend under the conditions of being forced.  Which means, you would probably have nothing in the garden plot next year.  On a mass scale, like 250 bulbs, I suppose one would apply the same procedures of forcing as one does for small groups of spring bulbs.

Here is a link that discusses forcing lilies.

I hope this helps.
