large white cala lilies

i moved into a new home the end of feb. 2007, this spring to my delite-my favorite flower started to come up in my flower beds!!! large white cala lilies-lots of them. my ? is what do i do with the flowers after they bloom, and start to shrivel up and turn brown. do i cut them off, and how far down on the stem, or just leave them alone? thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my ?

Shari,
 You must live in growing zone 7-8 or 9!  I live in 5b and Calla lilies have to be dug up each fall.
 After they bloom you can cut the bloom stalk down to the ground.  Leave the foliage,  this is when it gathers all the nutrients for the bulb and allows it to rebloom next year.  When the foliage had turned yellow/brown and withered-you should be able to just pull it from the plant.  This may take some time-be patient-it's feeding!
