You can extract them anytime after they ripen. Just be sure to let them dry out completely before preparing them for storage. You must store them for a minimum of 3 months to simulate the natural dormancy period. You can then sow them in a good potting soil in individual cell packs and grow them under fluorescent lighting until next spring.
