Storing Sycamore Seeds

Question
Hi Tom,

Thank you for answering my question.
I live in South Central Kansas.  I have some sycamore seed balls.  If I stick them in a zip-loc bag and leave them in my garage until Spring will they be okay to plant on or after May 10th?  Is it okay to keep them stored at room temperature for several months?

Thanks,
Tim

Answer
Hi Tim,
Thanx for your question.  I think the sycamore seed would be better stored in your unheated garage until spring.  The plastic baggie idea is a good idea.  Storing at room temperature would probably be okay but storing seed in a cool, dark, dry place actually helps keep them fresher than warmer temps.  A plant date around or shortly after May 10th is also okay.  I hope this helps.
Tom
