Hi Tom, Thanx for your time.  I'm brand new to seed propagation, so I appreciate all the tips so far.  I didn't notice what type of sunlight a cherry tree will need.  I am also wondering about the "zones" in the states that are acceptable planting areas for cherries.  My best wishes to you and yours... Thanx for your question.

In what part of Arkansas are you located?  I can tell you right now that sweet cherries are more difficult to grow than tart cherries.  Partially due to your heat and humidity.  Let me know a general location.  Also, cherries will require full sun, at least 8 hours a day.
