Poinsetta and christmas cactus

Question
I have a pointsetta I just purchased for a fundraiser and I believe it has frost damage, it is wilted and leaves are drying out.  Can I do anything to save it?
Also, I have a christmas cactus and the blooms are droping, what should I do for it?
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Monica, if the poinsettia has indeed been stung by a frost then there is no immediate remedy; the leaves that are wilted will eventually fall off and new growth will develop, but again, this will take time; you should also take it out of its original container and repot it. The Christmas cactus dropping its blooms could be one of many reasons; usually it is too much water though, especially if its in a pot thats wrapped with Christmas paper, not allowing any water from draining off. Another reason could be exposure to cold temps. Change out the soil also on the cactus. regards Nick
