Damaged Christmas Cactus

Question
We have an old Christmas Cactus and a main limb has broken off at the joint with the stem.  Can the limb be potted and rooted, or do we need to roo individual leaves?

Answer
Dear Walt,

The limb can be rooted, just let it "heal" for a week or so, then replant about 3 to 4 inches deep in the soil. Keep it somewhat moist but not wet. If it roots, it will take a few weeks to a month at least so please be patient. If you can find it, use a product called "Rootone" and follow the directions on the package. It should be carried at your local nursery. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
