spider plant leaves are shriveling

Question
i brought a spider plant right after christmas.this is not a big plant but not small. the leaves are about 8 inches long and i know its root bound because i snipped small roots off the drainage holes and the surface of the soil.my problem is that for the last few weeks i always have to cut dead leaves from the bottom,i don't think i do any thing wrong i give her lots of indirect sunlight and water every 7 to 8 days.am i doing something that will kill all the leaves.i named the plant Rosa after my grandmother who grew huge spider plants at times i did not the they had came along yet.this i my first successful spider plant and i would like to see it continue to grow larger and send out shoots.sorry the question is so long but i thought i should tell you everything

Answer
Jared, what you need to do in the near future is move it to a larger hanging pot; the fact that its pot bound leads me to think its been in that pot for quite awhile (the nursery, the store etc.). Once you get your new larger  container, put some pea stone in the bottom for drainage (about an inch) then use some good potting soil (miracle grow is a good one), then give it a good watering, then only when its dry. This should take care of your problem. regards Nick:)
