Question
I GOT A CANE CUTTING YEARS AGO.THIS CUTTING WAS IN A BOTTLE OF WATER WITH ROCKS IN IT.IT REALLY HASN'T GROWN MUCH AND I WOULD LIKE TO PUT IT OUTSIDE IN THE GROUND.WE LIVE IN SOUTHERN ILLINOIS. CAN I PUT THIS OUT SIDE THANK YOU SO MUCH

Answer
Hi Debbie, I think your are referring to lucky bamboo, which is really a Draceana; if you put it in soil, put it in a pot with equal parts peat moss, sand and potting soil, keep it damp and when you do need to add water, saturate it well; use a soluble fertilizer (miracle grow, or peters) at half strength once a month, and keep the pot in a light shady area. Nick
