Hurricane damaged queen plams

Question
My plams were folded over just above the main trunk during the last hurricane. I tried to splint them, but they're not responding. I'm wondering if I can cut the fronds in half to reduce the wind load on them.

Answer
The crown sounds like it has been broken, if the entire crown is flopped over then the palm probably won't survive, if it is just a few fronds that are bent  the just cut them off to alleviate weight from the crown which I am sure is stressed from the hurricane. Nick
