propagation of foxtail

Question
how does one get more plants from one. Also what is the fleshy structure on the root of the fern.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Linda, you need to wait for your foxtail to set an inflorescence, which will develop into a seed pod; once the seeds detach from the pod and fall to the ground they need to be soaked in water for a couple of days and then planted slightly into a medium and covered with a paper towel that is kept moist. The container is then covered with a baggy and put in an area that stays in the 80's; in about a month you should have some of them germinate for you. The germinated seeds will then be planted in a separate container until they have established themselves at which time they will be planted in the ground. I don't know what you mean about the fleshy structure on the root of a fern?..Nick
